The Expo ‘s theme goes as “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”. It will also have three subthemes: opportunity, mobility and sustainability, each with its own pavilion.
Where is it being held?
The Expo 2020 site spans 4.38 square kilometers and is located in the area known as Dubai South district, close to Al Maktoum International Airport with a close proximity to Dubai International Airport, And also Abu Dhabi International Airport. It is approximately a 40 minutes’ drive from Dubai Downtown. Apart from easily accessible taxis, Expo 2020 will have its own dedicated Metro Station on the route 2020 line to make sure all the visitors experience convenient transfer to this huge event.
A Brief History of World Expo
The first World Expo was held in 1851 at London’s Crystal Palace and was known as The Great Exhibition of the Works of Industry of All Nations. The most recent expo, which started in 2015, was held in Milan, Italy, with the theme of “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”. The Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) general assembly in Paris awarded Dubai as the host of Expo 2020 on November 27, 2013.
